VR2Planets’ specific skills in scientific data visualization were called upon by the CNRS to create this video sequence allowing the visualization of planetary magnetic fields subject to the interaction of the solar wind.

The fields visualized are exact representations of the models generated from planetary exploration data and, for the case of the Earth, from IGRF-12 data.

The 3D environment created as part of this work was selected for the cover of “Geomagnetism, Aeronomy and Space Weather” (Cambridge University Press, 2019).
